Our Mission
The Southfield Center for Development is an interdisciplinary practice designed to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic, and treatment interventions for people at different developmental stages within their life. The goals of the center are to provide:
• A single location where clients can access professionals of different disciplines who are all trained to understand the typical stages of human development and challenges that can arise at these different stages to allow for collaborative case consultations and diagnostic services.

• Comprehensive psychological and psycho-educational testing of children, adolescents, and adults. Typical evaluations include an assessment of cognitive, developmental, educational, and emotional factors. Our psychologists are trained to administer a variety of psychological and neuropsychological test instruments. For complex cases involving brain injury, the center refers to a consulting neuropsychologist.
• Developmental pediatric consults and integrated diagnostic evaluations for a variety of disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorders and Attention / Behavioral disorders.
• Individual, group, and family therapy utilizing current outcome–based interventions from the field of psychology, as well as psychiatric evaluations.
• State of the art vision diagnostics and developmental optometry interventions.
• Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatment including sensory integration therapy in our new OT gym.
• Individual and group speech and language interventions that utilize a wide variety of treatment approaches including sensory integration, language development, as well as oral motor techniques.
• Child advocacy, psycho-educational presentations, nutritional counseling, and children's exercise programs.
