Executive Functions Coaching Our Executive Functions Coaching team offers the same quality Executive Functions Coaching as during the school year; however, over the summer, students get the opportunity to focus exclusively on remediation for working memory, task initiation, time management, and the like, without the pressures of tomorrow’s homework or the test at the end of this week.
Reading Remediation / Reading Foundations One-on-one meetings with experienced teachers and a flexible schedule and opportunity for partnership with this year’s / next year’s curricular teachers at the school to define measurable goals for your child.
Math Remediation / Math Foundations One-on-one meetings with experienced teachers and a flexible schedule and opportunity for partnership with this year’s / next year’s curricular teachers at the school to define measurable goals for your child.
Extended School Year (ESY): Summer Curriculum Remediation / Summer Grade Recover / Summer Course Preview One-on-one curricular tutoring by experienced teachers with collaboration from your child’s school for extended school year, grade recovery, course preview, foundational review, and course review.
“Reverse” of the Summer Slide One or more meetings with a Learning Coach to get the assigned summer work started, planned, and completed.
Cogmed Working Memory Training Cogmed provides a scientifically validated method for improving working memory. Cogmed training is conducted online, so it is a flexible intervention that can be done anywhere with WiFi. Cogmed presents students with gamelike activities that increasingly challenge and improve working memory ability. Cogmed Certified Coaches work with students along the way for progress monitoring through completion of the training.
Summer Workshop: Intro to Executive Functions A flexible six-session one-on-one workshop with a detailed emphasis on Organization, Planning, Time Management, Memory, and Self-Monitoring through activity based, experiential learning under the guidance of a Learning Services coach.
Summer Workshop: Transition from High School to College A flexible six-session one-on-one workshop with an emphasis on teens heading to college to get accurate information about the changes they face, learn necessary skills, and explore their own expectations and feelings with other teens.
Essential Study Skills Workshop (A Collaboration with S4 Study Skills) An end-of-summer three day workshop to review, introduce, and reinforce essential study skills (time management, note taking, focus, active reading and listening, prepare study materials) for middle and high school students. Two Session: August 22, 23, and 24 or August 28, 29, and 30.
