Archive for: Parent Discussion Series

Each year, the Southfield Center team provides informative and research-based discussions to parents and professionals in the community.

The presentation series has a unifying theme to guide the discussions.
Examples of our past annual themes include a detailed exploration of the current epidemic of anxiety; and the various developmental issues that face parents as they raise their children.

Our goal is to provide a forum for an honest discussion of what the research tells us about these issues as well as practical suggestions for parents and educators about best practices in supporting optimal child development.

The Southfield Center Parent Discussion Series 2019 – 2020

Each year, the Southfield Center offers informative, accessible, research-based presentations and guided discussions in our efforts to educate and connect with our community. With the wide range of expertise of our team, we felt that this year’s discussion series should take a broad look at the hottest areas of research and literature currently in the field of child and adolescent psychology. Each of the presentations will focus on the topic’s theoretical facets as well as the practical applications. While targeted toward the parents in our community, other professionals are always welcome to attend.
