Lauren Alcan is an Intake Coordinator here at the Southfield Center for Development. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her graduate degree from Fordham University in 2016 and graduated from Catholic University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology. Lauren’s education and experience enables her to utilize her clinical abilities to facilitate a seamless intake process and provide the best overall client experience. She understands the importance of creating a safe space for sensitive information to be shared, and honors the individualized process.
Prior to taking on the role as an intake coordinator, Lauren provided individual, group, and family therapy in both in home and intensive outpatient settings for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and/or eating disorders. Lauren continues to pursue her passion for the treatment of eating disorders in private practice. Her lifelong dream is to provide therapeutic services to adolescents and young adults with an emphasis on creating a space for an individual to feel validated and heard.
